QF-Test Version 8

Highlights in QF-Test 8

With QF-Test 8 you can now also test native iOS applications under macOS on real devices or in the simulator. With the QF-Test Recorder you get started as usual: Record your actions, edit the generated test steps as required and combine them into test suites that can be played back quickly and reproducibly. Of course, special actions, such as swipe gestures, can also be represented in the test. There is a suitable quick start wizard, iOS devices are recognized, we offer new start and selection nodes, a corresponding recording window and an iOS package has been added to the standard library.

We have adopted the popular Solarized scheme with its harmoniously attuned colors as an optional UI theme for QF-Test. This adds more variety to the visual presentation of QF-Test and is available in light and dark mode.

Do you like Chai.js?
With the QF-Test Assertions API inspired by Chai, you can write scripts with test expressions in a naturally readable style.

Together with our partner Sandec GmbH, support for their JPro technology has been greatly improved. JPro brings JavaFX applications into the browser and QF-Test can simultaneously interact with both technologies, so tests written for JavaFX can be executed almost unchanged with JPro and the browser.

There are many more features to discover in QF-Test 8, such as accessibility improvements or performance gains with Apple Silicon. All details can be found in the Release Notes. Please be sure to pay attention to the notes on possibly incompatible changes.
