W-JAX 14 in retrospect: Thanks for your visits! 

QFS attended W-JAX 14 in Munich last week as exhibitor with our senior consultant Martin Moser presenting the latest QF-Test version at our booth live.

There was a lot of interest in testing all the different GUI technologies - both Java and Web - with a predominance of AJAX. QF-Test's special capabilities in reducing the testing complexity has convinced the audience.

QF-Test 4.0.2 Release Candidate 

This release candidate for the upcoming version QF-Test 4.0.2 provides support for Firefox 33 and fixes a critical WebStart issue caused by the latest Java updates 7u71, 7u72 and 8u25.

The final QF-Test 4.0.2 version is going to follow next week after more thorough testing with these Java updates. Unless you require one of the technologies above, we recommend to wait until then.

JavaFX: Looking smart, testing smart 

With Java8 Oracle determines JavaFX as the successor of the good old Swing GUI toolkit. However, Oracle not only cares about development but also about how users will be able to test their FX applications.

Actually, QF-Test is the answer as it supports JavaFX in a professional way like no other tool, as confirmed by Oracle. QF-Test provides seamless support for JavaFX GUI testing even in combination with Swing or embedded web browser components. Thanks for all the positive feedback we received so far!

Integration of QF-Test with SQS-TEST/Professional 

As a specialized tool for GUI test automation QF-Test now also can be integrated with SQS-TEST/Professional Suite from SQS and interoperates seamlessly with this system without special requirements for the integration.

SQS-TEST/Professional is an extensive test management framework, covering everything from requirement management through test-case development and execution to integration of test-results into a comprehensive report system.

Major upgrade: QF-Test 4.0 released 

It's done: QF-Test 4.0.0 is now complete and ready for download.

Highlights include support for the new GUI technology JavaFX, Google Chrome as the third browser besides Internet Explorer and Firefox, improved handling for Java WebStart and applets, jQuery UI as additionally supported AJAX framework, generic classes for components of all GUI engines, a multi-level sub-item concept named QPath, similar to XPath, support for the embedded browsers Java FX WebView and JxBrowser 4, an improved user interface with colored syntax highlighting and a new qfs.qft package for client-side ssh connections.

Release Candidate for QF-Test 4.0 released

Sports and fun: Company run and summer event 
At QFS not only the software runs well: For the sixth time, company employees and their families participated in a company run of the Business Forum Oberland on June 4. Two days later, the soreness had almost subsided and all were fit again for a golf taster course as part of the QFS summer event.

Third beta for QF-Test 4.0 released 

All the major projects for QF-Test 4.0 have made significant progress since beta 2. Support for the Chrome browser is nearing completion, embedded browser support is stabilizing and has more features and for JavaFX we are already talking about final details like automated procedure recording or some special checks which have now been implemented.

For SWT applications this version fixes a serious performance issue that unfortunately was introduced in QF-Test version 4.0.0-beta2.

50,000 Tests per Day - that is Fun 

Our automation framework with QF-Test runs like a clockwork currently. Since February we have reached an average of 3,000 tests per hour (peak: sometimes even over 50,000 per day) with 60 QF-Test daemons :-).

Second beta for QF-Test 4.0 released 

This version completes support for generic classes which are now uniform for all GUI engines. Chrome support is progressing well and embedded browsers via JavaFX WebView or JxBrowser 4 can now be interacted with, capture/replay of mouse events already works.
